Terms of use

These terms cover the Linux Window Sizer application and this website at smisco.biz/lws. By downloading, installing, or using Linux Window Sizer, you accept them.

License & use

Linux Window Sizer is proprietary software, © 2026 smisco. It is offered here free of charge for you to download and use on your own machines, as provided. The source code is not distributed. Please do not resell, repackage, or redistribute the software, or attempt to reverse-engineer it except to the extent applicable law expressly permits.

No warranty

Linux Window Sizer and this site are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the authors and copyright holder are not liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from the software or its use. It moves and resizes windows through your desktop's window manager; behaviour can vary between desktops and versions, so try it in your own environment before relying on it.

What it does — and does not do

Linux Window Sizer places one window per action to a preset size and position. It runs entirely on your machine, talking only to your X server; it makes no network connections of its own, reads and writes only its own configuration in your home directory, and collects nothing. It targets X11 desktops with an EWMH-compliant window manager.

Availability

This site is offered as a convenience and may change or become unavailable at any time without notice. Software already installed on your machine keeps working regardless of this site.
