Privacy
This is a static download page for Linux Note Pad. Both the page and the application are built to be boring about your data: they ask for none and store none about you.
What this site collects
Nothing. There are no accounts, no forms, no sign-ups, and no analytics or tracking scripts. We do not build profiles of visitors.
Cookies and local storage
The site sets no cookies and writes nothing to your browser's local storage. The only script on the page copies a command to your clipboard when you click “copy”, and it runs entirely in your browser.
Third-party requests
None. Fonts, styles, images, and the download are served from this site itself — the pages make no requests to third-party domains, ad networks, or content-delivery networks.
Server logs
The web host may keep standard server access logs (such as IP address, timestamp, and the file requested) for security and operational purposes, as is typical for any website. These are not used to track or identify you and are not combined with anything else.
Your notes
Linux Note Pad runs entirely on your own machine, and your notes never leave it. They are plain .txt files in your own data directory, alongside a small index and a trash folder; its preferences are a plain configuration file in your config directory. The daemon and the lnp command talk to each other over a socket in your own runtime directory — a local file, not a network port.
The application makes no network connections, contains no telemetry or analytics, and sends nothing anywhere. We never see your notes, their names, or how many you keep. Nothing about your notes is encrypted at rest, precisely because they are meant to stay ordinary readable files under your control — so give the directory the same care you would give any other private folder in your home directory.
